Epsom In Bloom Wins Silver

Once again Epsom In Bloom has won Silver at this years South & South East in Bloom competition. The South & South East in Bloom campaign is the largest horticultural campaign in the region involving 100’s communities each year. Participating communities create lasting improvements to their local environment for the benefit of those that live, work and visit.

Thanks to the support of Epsom Business Improvement District, Epsom BID, (Go Epsom) New planters were added to Epsom Square. Local businesses and community group volunteers adopted the green cast iron planters around town to make sure they were watered and looking their best.

Along the walkway from the High St to the Station Approach Car Park the old broken planters were removed and replaced with new Oak planters made by Surrey Heritage Construction and along the wall of TK Maxx leading to Pure Gym Sarah Gillings MA of iamsos.com painted an amazing temporary mural of Wildflowers to brighten up the walkway.

On hearing the result Karen Pengelly, Epsom BID manager said “it’s been a busy year organising Jubilee and Family Friday events as well as supporting our fantastic businesses.

So I just like to say a big Thank You to all our businesses who have adopted a planter and the wonderful volunteers who have helped us. Without their help we wouldn’t have won this award. We are looking forward to going for Gold in 2023 and we already have a planting day planned for Sunday 30th Oct.”

With planting days already in the plans and new pocket park locations identified around the town centre Epsom In Bloom are going all out for Gold in 2023.
