Halloween Family Friday

After the popular Family Fridays during the Summer Holidays Go Epsom will once again pack the town with free Halloween themed entertainment for all the family on Halloween Family Friday 28th October from 12pm – 5pm around the town centre. From Arts & Crafts, Skeleton Mimes, Puppet shows, Uncle Doom the outrageous musical ghoul and lots more…..

Marketplace

Uncle Doom the outrageous musical ghoul will be gliding around the marketplace throughout the afternoon with his equally ghostly piano bedecked with cobwebs and rusty chains. With an outrageous repertoire of music, terrible songs and sound effects. Stop and watch this ghostly performance if you dare.

Times: various times during the afternoon

Our friendly Skeleton Mimes will be walking about the marketplace during the afternoon entertaining the public with amusing mime antics and happy to pose for photos. These comedy skeletons will be sure to tickle your funny bone.

We are pleased to welcome back Audrey, the mobile cinema. Audrey was supposed to be with us during Heritage Open Day weekend so we are so please she can join us this Halloween. Showing a selection of local news stories from Pathe News, nothing scary.

Epsom Square

Pauline Puppets return for Halloween Family Friday with 3 shows upstairs in the Esquire Coffee shop space with special Halloween shows full of ghosts and snakes and the Devil. There will be 3 shows during the afternoon and times will be on the show board.

George’s Marvellous Medicine will be upstairs opposite the library in Epsom Square. George is busy in the kitchen mixing up a storm but what will he do when he produces a giant Grandmother?! Can he recreate the recipe without flooding Epsom Square?

In this interactive version of George’s Marvellous Medicine theatre and science come together to create a real Marvellous Medicine! Fingers crossed we don’t all leave with longer necks that we came in with!
Steve Markwell

Steve Markwell, a Surrey Hills author, will be reading from a selection of his children’s books – Dinosaurs of the Surrey Hills, Vesta-Goddess of Fire, Eleanor the Invisible, Green Man Guardian of the Forests at 2:00pm. It’s a free but ticketed event for ages 4-8. Tickets available from Epsom Library. Please pop into the library to sign up for the event.

Note: Parent/guardians will need to stay with the children during the events.

Ashley Centre

Throughout the day visit the Ashley Centre and pose at the Halloween Selfie station similar to the image for visitors to take a photo to get into the halloween fun. The bench will be in the centre from 26th October till 31st October.

Children will have the chance to make spooky spoons at the Halloween Arts and Craft stall near New Look.

Other Events

The Odeon Luxe in Upper High St will be doing a special 20th Anniversary screening of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets at 3:50pm. Harry Potter’s adventures continue… After a long summer with the horrid Dursleys, Harry Potter is thwarted in his attempts to board the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to begin his second year.
