Epsom Metro Bank Appeals for Donations for Most in Need this Christmas

Metro Bank’s Epsom store is collecting donations in store to help support Epsom & Ewell Foodbank as part of its Christmas Community Campaign to spread the warmth this winter.

Part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust which is working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. The charity’s vision is for a UK without the need for foodbanks as one in five in the UK live below the poverty line. The Epsom & Ewell Foodbank has now fed more than 43,000 people since it opened. In 2020 they fed more than 12,000 people.

Epsom residents and businesses can donate some of the items the foodbank urgently needs including tinned puddings and custard, longlife fruit juice, tea bags, coffee and powdered milk, tinned tomatoes, soup and fish – they also need tinned meat but please no corned beef as they have lots as well as shampoo, conditioner and deodorant for men and women at its High Street store.

“As a community bank we want to really help those most in need this Christmas and spread the warmth this winter,” explains Epsom Metro Bank Local Director, Sammie Zejnuli. “We would encourage everyone to give a little this Christmas – even one tin can make a difference. I want to thank everyone in advance for their generous support.”

All donations are welcome at Metro Bank’s Epsom store can be found at 91A High Street, Epsom, Surrey, KT19 8DR. The store is open Monday – Saturday: 8:30am - 6pm. Sunday: 11am - 5pm.
