Saving the Spirit of Christmas!

It’s a different type of Christmas this year. To bring a glimmer of fun, Go Epsom have planned a contactless, safe, and socially distanced activity for families. They have teamed up with experts, High Street Safari, to create an interactive story-trail, designed to encourage children to get out in the fresh air and have fun with their families.

The trail, live from the 5th December, is positioned around Epsom town centre with 10 ‘Christmas Spirit’ characters to find. It’s completely free for families and groups to participate in and they win a heart-warming Christmas e-book at the end.

The trail works by utilising contactless QR codes, without the need for downloads or sign ups. 10 jolly characters, all specially created for the trail have been placed around Epsom for families to hunt down. There is no need to enter any venues, but maybe you will be tempted!

The Christmas Spirit Trail revolves around Albert Claus, the less famous brother of Father Christmas. His job is to maintain the Spirit of Christmas by spreading joy bubbles on Christmas day, but he's gone missing! When you follow the trail, you will gather clues and learn what has happened to Albert, solve the mystery, save him, and read the conclusion in the free e-book at the end!

Families simply scan each character’s unique QR code to bring the character to life via an animation on their smartphone. To find out more about the trail, visit the website: www.christmasspirittrail.com

Karen Pengelly, BID Manager at Go Epsom said “This year has been extraordinarily tough for local businesses, we are really hoping Epsom’s residents back the businesses that are the heart and soul of our community, the places that employ local people and keep Epsom buzzing with colour and life. It’s very simple, just Love Local this Christmas!”.
