Rosebery Park is situated close to Epsom Town Centre, The Ashley Centre shopping complex and Epsom Playhouse. Large open swathes of grass dominate this park with a large duck pond and children’splayground.

Lord Rosebery, (former Prime Minister, racehorse owner and long-time Epsom resident) gifted the Council 12 acres of land in September 1913, as ‘proof of his deep and abiding affection for Epsom’. It was, he proposed, to be used as a free and open space forever.

The park’s layout, trees, pond and mixed borders are still verymuch the same as it was when first planned. The willows nearthe pond were planted in 1915 and in 2013 a ‘CentenaryCopse’ of four new trees was planted by the Council with thehelp of the Friends of Rosebery Park to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the park.

As part of the Queen Elizabeth II jubilee celebrations in 2012, Rosebery Park achieved QEII status. This protects the park for future generations.
