The BID

A Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led and business-managed body formed specifically to make agreed improvements to a defined commercial area – in this case Epsom town centre.

Epsom BID, better known to you as Go Epsom, was formed in 2017, after five tumultuous years it has come to the end of its first five year term. Even allowing for a global pandemic, Go Epsom has delivered numerous benefits, events and attractions for Epsom. This Autumn businesses will be balloted as Epsom BID seek a second 5 year term.

Notification of Ballot

In recent weeks businesses who are members of the BID would have received a Notification of Ballot leaflet. The leaflet explains the ballot process and highlights just a few of the projects achieved over the last few years from Pancake races to Platinum Jubilee events including Epsom’s first Beacon. Business Plan 2023 – 2028

From early October businesses within the BID geographical boundary area will be receiving Epsom BID’s Business Plan covering the 5 year period from 2023 – 2028. This plan includes an Overview of Epsom BID, what has been achieved by the BID, details of the proposed 5 year budget and what comes next if a second term is voted for. The Result

Following the ballot of local BID levy paying businesses. Go Epsom are pleased to announce that a second 5 year term was voted for by the businesses.

Karen Pengelly, BID Manager at Go Epsom commented “We will continue working hard to support local BID levy paying businesses in these difficult times. The BID will continue to deliver real value for money for the next 5 years we are planning expansion of the existing waste collection services, active monitoring of Epsom’s new CCTV system to reduce crime, expansion of promotional campaigns, more events to drive footfall, more arts and cultural activities to encourage new visitors – these are all on the BIDs list for the second term. We actively encourage businesses to become as involved as they can possibly be in the BID’s work”.
